Home from having my hernia repaired and being fixed. I have no idea what all that means, all I know is that I don't like this at all.

neighborhood watch

Love my new patio furniture! This is my favorite chair to chill out in and watch what is happening in the neighborhood.

Normally my neighbors are a little boring, but I have had a lot to watch and listen to this week. Next door my neighbor is replacing his deck and I love watching all of the action. There have been a lot of new noises and I have gotten used to them quickly. Mommy has explained that barking at our neighbors is not nice, but I am allowed to stalk them.

My toys were given a bath today too. When they got out of the dryer mommy made a big pile on the floor for me to play in. Maybe bath day is not too bad after all!

Getting a bath is not as much fun as it should be. I need a rubber duck or some bath toys. Maybe then I would not be in a bad mood after my bath.

Thunderstorms do not scare me. Even loud, booming, fast moving storms like we had tonight. I refused to come inside as I enjoyed sitting in my yard watching the storm approach. After the storm there was an amazing double rainbow.

I love watching my dad mow the front yard. Perhaps I will be able to ride on the John Deere mower one day. A girl can dream!

Mommy keeps making fun of my grandpa eye brows. What do you think? They are big aren't they? Oh well, at least I have my favorite slippers for comfort.

My cousin David came to visit tonight. We played outside and I got to play really rough. David was tricky, but I had a few moves of my own that may have impressed him. I am a powerful puppy with sharp teeth. David calmed me down after our play time and we watched a little tv together. I was sad when he left, but I slept really good!

Today I weighed 8.6 pounds at the vet. I received a lot of compliments about my looks, behavior, and disposition. I was also called a princess when I got stuck with a needle and made a high pitch scream. The vet called me a princess and I calmed down when I saw mommy's face. It was a good visit and everyone at Hopkins Road Animal Hospital loved me! 

chores

Getting older is a lot of fun. I look innocent, but I can put my front paws on tables and chairs. I love pulling clothes off of their hangers and dragging them around the house. Helping mommy fold towels is one of my chores. When she places the towels on the sofa I can easily reach them to help fold washcloths. When I am bigger I will help fold towels too. Mommy places daddy's folded clothes on a hope chest in their bedroom and I have also started helping daddy put away his clothes. I put one of his socks under the bed and he still hasn't found it. Mommy saw it and ignored it as she knows how much I like to play with it.

Grandma took care of me today while mommy took her students on a field trip to the Nascar Hall of Fame in Charlotte. Grandma took me for my first doggy grooming visit. Above is my before and after photos. Thanks Grandma!

lauren & bill

My cousins Lauren and Bill came to visit tonight. They were a lot of fun to play with! Lauren was impressed when I sat and waited patiently for my treat after going outside. I am an impressive puppy and my parents have been very easy to train. I hope Lauren and Bill come back and visit soon!

hello sister!

My sister, Bella, visited today. We played very hard and I won the battle of who is stronger. My mom worried that we were hurting each other, but thankfully she realized that sisters just play rough. In the first three photos below I am the beautiful puppy on the left and my cute sister is on the right.

Meemaw Angie and Aunt Terry came to visit me this afternoon. I was so excited to see them and had a lot of kisses to give. Then Peepaw Bruce and my dog mommy Bella came over. We were all on the back porch having fun. Bella showed me how to descend the stairs. It was scary going down the big stairs, but I did it. The best part was playing with Bella in the yard. I ran so hard.

After everyone left my daddy made me go down the stairs by myself. I barked at him half way down as it was not fun. Then mommy made me do it by myself again. I am going to miss being a princess and being carried down. Growing up isn't all it is cracker up to be.

a new place to sleep

I keep finding new places to sleep. Daddy's legs are another one of my favorite spots to sleep.

stair master

My backyard has one big obstacle, six huge brick steps. Each step is as big as me and sort of scary when gazing down longing to get to my yard. So, like any princess of my stature I am carried down the steps. For days I have been working hard to learn how to ascend my personal Mt. Kilimanjaro. Along my journey there have been a few slips and falls, but today I ran up the stairs like a pro. Now I have to work on getting down the stairs like an independent lady.

learning to walk on a leash is exhausting

Mom and I have a new game I love. She puts on my leash and takes me out to play. I try to catch my leash and play with it while mommy tries to keep it away from me. My best move is rolling onto my back and grabbing the leash with my paws. My leash and my rope chew toy seem very similar so it all makes sense to me. Mommy seemed disappointed that we did not leave the yard today. I had fun, but I am not so sure mommy did.

my favorite place to fall asleep

I love crawling up on mommy's lap to fall asleep. Staying close to my mommy makes me feel safe and I think she likes it. 

playing by myself = happy mommy

Mommy's favorite phrase is, "don't bite the mommy." Good thing I am smart or I would think that is my name. Mommy left me at home alone and when she came back she had two new toys. I love both of them!
